Terms of Usage
Last updated: 7 Aug 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Awqōt platform (the "Service"), you ("you," "your," or "the mosque") agree to be bound by these Terms of Usage. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Awqōt provides a prayer time and announcement kiosk display platform for mosques, including a public-facing display, an admin panel for managing announcements and mosque profile information, and prayer time data sourced from official Singapore prayer time publications.
3. Eligibility
The Service is currently offered free of charge to mosques based in Singapore.
To register a mosque on Awqōt, you must be an authorized representative of the mosque and complete email verification as part of the signup process. Where necessary — for example, to verify the legitimacy of a mosque or to resolve a signup dispute — Awqōt may request further documentation before activating or maintaining an account, such as a letter from Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS), business/organisation registration documents, or a recent utility bill.
4. Account Registration & Responsibilities
To use the Service, you must register an account and provide accurate, current information about your mosque and its administrator(s). You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring the content you upload complies with these Terms
Notify us immediately at support@awqot.app if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload or display content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes on the rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other mosques' data, accounts, or displays
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation or security
- Use the Service for any purpose other than displaying prayer times and mosque-related announcements
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Content Ownership
- Your content: You retain ownership of all announcement slides, images, and other content you upload. By uploading content, you grant Awqōt a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating your mosque's kiosk display.
- Your responsibility for content: You are responsible for ensuring any content you upload is lawful and does not infringe on the rights of others. You agree to indemnify Awqōt and its team against any claims, damages, or losses arising from content you upload or display through the Service.
- Our content: The Awqōt platform, including its design, branding, and underlying software, remains the property of the Awqōt team and may not be copied, reverse-engineered, or redistributed without permission.
- Prayer time data: Prayer time data displayed through the Service is based on officially released prayer times published by Singapore's relevant religious authority. Awqōt is not the source of this data and makes no claim of official endorsement or partnership. Awqōt is a display tool and not a religious authority — prayer time and Hijri date accuracy for religious observance should be verified against your mosque's own authorities where it matters. We are not liable for missed prayers or scheduling errors arising from source data changes, delays, or display errors.
7. Service Availability
We aim to keep the Service reliably available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We are not liable for temporary outages, display interruptions, or data inaccuracies arising from third-party data sources.
8. Force Majeure
Awqōt shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to power outages, internet or telecommunications failures, natural disasters, acts of government, or failures of third-party infrastructure providers relied upon to deliver the Service.
9. Third-Party Service Providers
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure, including cloud hosting and data storage providers, and third-party sources for prayer time data. We select these providers carefully but do not control their operation and are not liable for outages, data loss, or inaccuracies originating from them. Where prayer time data is affected, see Section 6 on Prayer Time Data.
10. Hardware & Connectivity
The display device, screen, and internet connection used to run the Service at your mosque are your responsibility to provide, maintain, and secure. Awqōt has no control over and is not liable for issues arising from hardware failure, power loss, or local network connectivity at your premises.
11. Your Responsibility to Back Up Content
While we take reasonable measures to protect uploaded content, we recommend you retain your own copies of announcement slides, logos, and other files you upload. Awqōt is not liable for loss of content arising from technical failure, accidental deletion, or service migration.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Awqōt and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This limitation does not apply to damages arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Awqōt or its team.
13. Free Service (Singapore Mosques)
The Service is currently provided free of charge to Singapore mosques. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers, additional features, or changes to this arrangement in the future, with reasonable advance notice to existing users.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account closure at any time by contacting support@awqot.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles.
