Understanding asatizah accounts

An Awqōt account for an ustaz or ustazah is separate from any mosque's Mosque Admin Dashboard (awqot.app/admin) — its own sign-in, its own dashboard, and its own PIN that works at every mosque you're affiliated with.

Quick answer

You can't sign up on your own as an ustaz or ustazah — a mosque admin has to invite you by email first. Accepting that invite creates your account at your Asatizah Dashboard (awqot.app/lecturer), separate from any mosque's own Mosque Admin Dashboard. From your dashboard you manage your profile, upload lecture material, and request affiliation with additional mosques. Once a mosque approves you, you appear as a tile on that mosque's Live Session Control Panel picker, and can present there using your own PIN.

1

Getting your first account

A mosque admin sends you an invite by email from their own Affiliation tab. The link takes you to Join as an ustaz or ustazah (awqot.app/lecturer/join), where your invited email is already filled in — you'll set your display name, contact number, a handle, a password, and a 4-digit PIN, plus agree to the terms.

The invite link only works once, and expires after a number of failed attempts — if yours doesn't work, ask the mosque that invited you to resend it.

2

Accepting the invite

Creating your account doesn't automatically connect you to the mosque that invited you — that invite still shows as Pending in your dashboard's Affiliation tab, with Accept and Decline buttons. You need to tap Accept before you show up on that mosque's Live Session Control Panel picker.

3

Your dashboard: Profile

Sign in at Log In (awqot.app/login) any time to manage your own details — display name, contact information, and profile photo (this is what mosques see on their Live Session Control Panel picker). This tab also has your account security (email and password) and your 4-digit PIN.

If a mosque admin resets your PIN, the shared tablet at that mosque can't help you set a new one — sign in here and set it from your Profile tab instead.

4

Your dashboard: Lecture Material

Upload PDF, PNG or JPG files here — up to 20MB each, 80MB combined. Oversized PDFs are compressed automatically, and you can upload several files at once. A PNG or JPG is shown as a single slide. PowerPoint (.pptx) files can't be uploaded because they can't be shown during a session — in PowerPoint, choose File → Save As → PDF first (or export your slides as PNG or JPG). Your material appears in the order you set, the same way announcement slides do for a mosque.

5

Your dashboard: Affiliation

This tab shows every mosque you're connected to, and lets you search for and request affiliation with others — only verified, live mosques appear in search. A request you send shows as Pending until that mosque's admin approves it, the same as an invite works the other way around.

You can Leave a mosque you're already approved at, any time, from this tab. A mosque admin can also Suspend or Revoke your affiliation from their side — suspending is reversible, revoking removes the connection entirely.

6

Presenting at a mosque

Once a mosque approves your affiliation, you appear as a tile — your name and photo — on that mosque's picker on Live Session Control Panel (awqot.app/present), alongside In-house. Tapping your tile and entering your PIN starts a session as you, exactly the same way as any other occupant. Your PIN is the same one across every mosque you're affiliated with — there's nothing separate to set up per mosque. See Running a Friday khutbah with Live Session for the full walkthrough of what happens after that.

Common questions

Can I sign up as an ustaz or ustazah without being invited?

Not yet — every account for an ustaz or ustazah starts from a mosque's email invite. Once you have an account, though, you can request affiliation with any other verified mosque yourself, without needing a second invite.

Do I need a separate PIN for each mosque I present at?

No — your PIN is tied to your account, not to any one mosque. The same PIN works everywhere you're an approved affiliate.

What happens to my material and affiliations if a mosque revokes me?

You're removed from that mosque's Live Session Control Panel picker and its Mosque Admin Dashboard — your account, your material, and any other mosque affiliations you have are unaffected.
